Welcome To My Bookish Corner

Hi, I’m Rune!
Pronouns: they/them/theirs
📍 Canada 🇨🇦

I’m chaos, but like… friendly chaos?! I’m a little feral, a little soft, and way too emotionally invested in fictional people and worlds. I keep things honest when reviewing and recommending, but I’m not here to tear books or authors apart—this is a respectful space.

How It All Began

Reading has always been more than a hobby for me. When I was a kid back in Colombia, I used to hide in an old wardrobe with fantasy books because it felt safer than everything else at times. Later on in Canada, after losing someone I loved, I practically lived in the library for a while, just trying to exist. A librarian handed me a YA romance novel, and I was a goner.

Now I read all kinds of spicy adult romance. Light and dark, all pairings, and no shame. Paranormal, romantasy, monster romance, BDSM & kink, why-choose, omegaverse, romcoms, horror romance, small town, all of it. I’m here for enemies to lovers, forced proximity, one bed, fated mates, “touch them and perish,” and denial of attraction. But, picking only a few subgenres or tropes is painful! 😂

Get To Know Rune

I’m obsessed with The Night Circus! I keep re-reading it for the magic and whimsy.

White tea, always. Don’t get me wrong, I do need bean juice to quell the demons, but tea is my comfort drink.

I’m a sucker for iced tea and pretzels

A cozy window nook or my egg chair with a soft blanket, twinkly fairy lights, and a rainy day outside.

Lots! You can check it out on goodreads, fable, storygraph, etc.

I can’t resist fantasy romance/romantasy, PNR, omegaverse, dark romance, monster romance, forbidden/taboo, MC romance, mafia romance, and more. Basically, anything spicy and adult.

I am such a sl*t for stickers, it’s not even funny. If I had to pick something else, it would be my clingies/phone grips or pouches that I use on my ereaders.

Kiss of the Basilisk
really liked it
Before I review I wanted to say that I went in blind, I had no clue what the tropes, pairings, themes, or plot would be like. And I don’t regret it! Tem, Caspen, and Leo make for an interesting love triangle. Watching Them learn that s…

Why SoaH?

I started doing this because I wanted a no-work zone to talk about the books stuck in my head, the ones I’m desperate to read, and the ones I need to scream about with other people. I’m an ARC/ALC reader, I work in the romance space, I hunt deals, uplift indie authors, and shamelessly enable everyone’s TBR addiction.

The name came pretty naturally as I am a heathen myself, and I love it!

I’m a mood reader, which means I either read nothing or read 600 pages in one sitting and ruin my sleep schedule. My TBR is longer than my will to live. My e-readers and shelves are suffering. I am not.

Outside of books: I’m nonbinary, autistic, neurodivergent, chronically ill, tattooed, plus-size, and powered mostly by white tea and anxiety. And vibes. Mostly vibes.
If you like your romance spicy, chaotic, and a little unhinged, you’ll probably get along with me just fine.
